Around the Hizzel....

A few blogs back, i had shown a picture of the beginning of my little project...

This is the Finish...

I picked the number 3 well, for obvious reasons...

There are 3 of us... Me, Jack and Tag...

Was just an old picture frame, with some burlap I attached behind it...

ALSO....

A few months ago, i think it was March... i had found this darling Secretary Hutch at a garage sale $60...

It had been sitting in my garage since the purchase and thought to myself... um "why did i buy this again if it is sitting in the garage?"

I had been changing the colors of my bedroom to greens/blues...

Perfect!
I brought it in last night, and filled it with a few things i had around the house....

I'm on a mission now with my "bargain shopping" to find unique finds to put on the little shelves.

It seems i get inspired when i read blogs where ladies are redoing rooms, bargain shopping, anything that has to do with the home...
I immediately get inspired to "fix up" change about my home!
There are just so many creative ladies out there....
I cant wait to see what else i find!

Found myself in the kitchen... bright eyed this morning!

I am watching the neighbor boys this week.....

and my niece Morgan and my nephew Landon spent the night last night..

and i have my two boys here... sheesh..

how many kids does that make?

ALOT..

I found a great recipe for Chocolate Chip Muffins... so thought today would be a great day to bake them, and fill the kids bellies with some yumminess.....

Dont they look D E V I N E!

Im going to go ahead and just share this recipe...

dont even have to ask..... its yours... easy and delicious!

Chocolate Chip Muffins

Oven 400 degrees

2 cups flour

1/3 cup white sugar

1/3 cup light brown sugar

2 teaspoons baking powder

1/2 teaspoons salt

(put all dry ingredients in a bowl, mix)

2/3 cup milk

1/2 (1 stick butter) melted, cooled

2 eggs, lightly beaten

1 teaspoon vanilla

(put all together)

Make a well in the dry ingredients and pour wet ingredients in, mix well

(dont over mix)

Pour in Chocolate Chips

Stir.

Place batter in muffin papers or sprayed non-stick muffin tins.

Bake 15-20 min

Little Miss Morgan here, not only wakes up with the BEST hair ever!

She loved the muffins! LOVED them!

I enjoyed mine with a lovely homemade Iced coffee as well!
What a great way to start the OFFICIAL first day of SUMMER for us!

Jack graduated the 3rd grade yesterday! WOW.. I have a Fourth grader!

Its a good thing, that Jack gets older.... but i dont seem to age.. Not a year older for me...

NOPE! I SAID, NOT A YEAR OLDER!

(just let me tell myself that!)

...a little bit cute, right?

I wanted to get my "creative" on.....

I think i was successful this past weekend...

I had an old frame.... and just so happen to buy some burlap at the Hobby Lobby on my last visit... I didn't know what to do with it though..

Its oodles of scratchy, and hard to work with, and dulled my scissors...

But my {not completely finished} product is... i attached it with some hot glue on the back of the frame...and i think it looks pretty neat.

I'm going to put some black letters in the middle... or maybe numbers... maybe my street...

{4537 So.}.. on it... wouldn't that be great....

and hang it on one of my many empty walls....

This chair i got at the Goodwill for a mere $5.99

it was N to the NASTY when i brought it home... icky food was still stuck to it..

{too much info? SORRY}

But did some serious cleaning, and then recovered with some fabric i had around...

I am bringing blues into my bedroom, so this will be a chair at my desk...

Cute! Yes i believe it is!

Next here, i made a dress for my sweety niece Morgan....

It gathers around the neck, with just some ribbon tied in a knot or bow...

Once again, i had fabric.. so why not!

{i never use to keep fabric around the house, now that is one of my favorite things to buy}

Its fun to change something up in a room, with a simple new fabric!

No, i did not make this..... but isn't it great! Got it this weekend, shopping the 50% off STORE at Goodwill! $3.99 D E A L!!!!!!! This shopping at Goodwill has become a bit of an obsession with my sister and I... we jones to find a new goodwill we haven't hit up!
The table runner was a deal too..... clearance $5 at HomeGoods! Thanks Rebecca for finding that for me!

I think i made the most of my weekend..... don't you?

Its so fun to reinvent your home...

I have been loving blues... and keep seeing peeks of it around my house now!

Sun Worship!

I woke up wanting to rearrange my closet..

Dresses to the front please! Jeans toward the back!

Who doesn't love a sun/tube dress?

If you know me at all... you know that I'm one who is quite fond of

"the tube dress".

In Arizona we can get away with wearing these 7 months out of the year!

The one above, i found, i think its a bit updated... and added one of my

belts to it to finish it off...

How CUTE is that!!!!

So, its going to be 100 degrees today!

Truth be told.. anything over 100 degrees feels the same.. its hot..

{but i love the hot!}

I'm a sun WORSHIP er! I would sit outside all day if i could, baking in the warm sun.

Its going to be a Sundress and Flip Flops today! ..

SUMMER IS HERE!!!

Not another Manic Monday!... Not at all!

I started this morning, thinking it was going to be another {Manic Monday}....

OH NO PEOPLE!

My sister called me up around 8:30 and said... "hey, you want to go shopping"

My reply was, "HECK YA! Let me slap on some make-up meet you in 30 minutes!"

Treasures we did find......

I was on a mission for some things to fill my empty nooks and crannies.... and some pieces of furniture...

My sister was looking for vintage suitcases (which she did find) and furniture as well...

the bargains were practically finding us...

here are just a few...

My little owl here, we found at a Ross... for a whopping $4.99

Ceramic and just so cute...

This is a Hurricane, candle holder, also found at Ross for $3.99

If you notice the books the owl is resting on....

My sis and i both picked up a few of those...

$2.99 at Goodwill.....

Now the Pedestal table you see here, i picked up last night.....

The kids and I were doing a late night Wal-Mart run for some Candy Dots....

You know those yummy gummy candies... yeah .. we actually went out at 8 O'clock looking for those! They were out, can you believe it!?

Anyway, back to my treasure.... there .... just sitting there staring at me was this great black pedestal table, clearanced out for $29.00.....

That's MINE!!! I think i yelled to the kids, (there was no one else around me, but i ran for that table like i was in a race!)

ALL in all it was a great Shopping trip today with my sister...

I did score a few great pieces of Furniture.... Im going to wait and show a before and after for those....!

Out of Style?

(sorry for quality of photo, my 8 year old didn't have a steady hand! :))

So, I have this pair of pants/capri things.....

They are a great pair of pants, In regards to letting me flow, breath, show off a little figure....

but,

i am thinking they have gone out of style...

did i mention they are Linen... that's good right?

Um, but they are Gaucho!

(double gulp)

Would Anthro ever veer me in the wrong direction, with my style?

NO WAY, right?

That fantabulous store would never make anything that would be

thought of as... "out of style" would they?

I only bring this up, well im wearing my Linen, Gaucho, Anthro pants today..... and feeling quite cute in my outfit.. I have paired it with an off the shoulder grey/white stripped sweater shirt, that i picked up at the Forever 21 (please dont tell them, i am not 21) for a mere $12.80... I am asking this Gaucho question because i think of the gaucho phase that went on a few years ago, you know those Cotton, stick to your bum, show every bump and crevice...

I once wore said pants,

saw a picture of myself in them,

and think burned them the next day!

(there are a chosen few who look real cute in them, i will admit, I, am not one of those lucky ladies)

What if you love something, and is socially "out of style" ....

It will become vintage eventually wont it?

I don't have to stop wearing the pants, right?

Front room.... what should it be?
(my last post has pictures regarding room in question!)

Im sorry Blog.... but need some help creative ladies..

I have been so busy.. with...well..... everything, i have neglected my blog! Happens to the best of us, i suppose! Trying to decorate the house, rearrange rooms, making aprons, taking care of the boys, (yes they still need looking after, lil buggers... just need their mommy.. go figure)

Been feeling over whelmed...but going to get past that... yeah.. (at least that's what i tell myself)

I need some help actually......

You see, i have a room in the house, i have NO idea what to do with...Its a front room in the house... in the past, it has been:

a playroom

a preschool

a guest room

and a mothers-quarters...

Now... its empty (well almost, there is a train table in there, and a basket of toys, can easily be removed.)

What should I make this blank canvas?

What should this front room be?
